So what's a 'Rookery?'
Generally speaking, it’s a nesting area for specific species of birds. Artificial ones can be built for these birds, and they are typically “housed” when you want them to return to you, or stay with you on your property. Corvids are extremely intelligent, and there needs to be trust between them and people for them to stay.
We wanted to use this in our name as a way of saying we are here to create an open space for people to come and go, and to build trust within the community and with clients.
Our mission statement as a tattoo shop is to provide quality service and create a welcoming environment for all of our clients, especially those who have previously or might encounter barriers, resistance, or discrimination in body art spaces.
We aim to provide trauma-informed care, neurodivergent friendly practices and accessibility, and are always striving to listen, improve and grow.

Hannah Pedersen, beloved co-founder
Raven’s Rookery was started by Hannah Pedersen and Rowan Lee in 2023. Hannah spearheaded the idea and the vision for the shop– a welcoming and creative place where everyone in the creative process of tattooing is valued and supported.
Rowan continues managing the shop and tattooing, but Hannah has had to step back from work due to the progression of her cancer. Here, we want to celebrate her career, art, and connections made during her time tattooing. While not tattooing, she is still posting art and fast food reviews on her Instagram.
