Frequently Asked Questions
Each artist has their own booking process, outlined on their Artist page. Additionally, you can submit a form through our site here.
-
Moisturize the area you want tattooed once a day a few days prior to your appointment.
-
Bring a valid photo ID and a mask. We have free masks up front in case you forget.
-
Make sure to eat and drink something 3-4 hours before your appointment. Bring water and a snack, especially for longer sessions. We have water and snacks at the shop in case you forget or need more.
-
Wear clothing that reveals or can be easily pulled back to reveal the area being tattooed. We'll do our best to not stain clothing, but you should wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. We have privacy screens and nipple pasties available if you’re interested in those.
-
If you have been sick or have been around anyone who has been sick within a week of your appointment, please reach out to your artist as soon as you can.
-
We can’t tattoo you if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
-
We can’t tattoo sunburnt, bruised, or rashy skin as well as recently cut skin. If this is the case, please contact me to reschedule.
-
After your tattoo has been finished, you can choose to have it wrapped in ointment and a bandage (to be removed within 1-2 hours and washed) or saniderm (an adhesive breathable bandage originally designed for burns). Once the wrap or saniderm is taken off, do not rebandage the tattoo
Saniderm
-
If you opt for saniderm, you can keep it on for up to 3-5 days. Any fluid that builds up in the bandage is fine as long as it doesn’t leak. If it does start to leak, if it peels over the area of the tattoo, or if it becomes itchy or irritated, take it off as soon as you can.
-
You can run the saniderm under warm water (like in the shower) to help break down the adhesive when you remove it. Try pulling it parallel to the skin instead of up and off of it. This makes it less painful to remove if it’s really stuck.
Whenever the saniderm comes off or if you chose not to use saniderm, follow the aftercare information below
-
For at least 1-2 weeks, clean the tattoo gently with a mild, unscented soap daily or whenever the area becomes sweaty or dirty. Moisturize it with an unscented lotion twice a day, making sure the coating is light to allow the area to breathe, especially if using something thick like aquaphor.
-
The area will scab and become itchy over time. This is normal. Do not pick the scabs or scratch at the tattoo. Scabs will fall off naturally over time and picking them may damage the tattoo.
-
It takes about 4-6 weeks for a tattoo to completely heal. During that time, you will want to avoid exposing the tattoo to direct sunlight as well as submerging it in water (i.e. swimming, baths, etc).
If you have any questions, please reach out to your artist!

Each artist makes their own hours. We are a 'by appointment only' studio, so if you would like to inquire about setting up an appointment, please reach out to a specific artist or use our shop email or contact form. If you show up without an appointment, there may be no one at the shop or we will be busy.
We use single use barriers on all surfaces, single use cartridges or needles, and single use utensils for each client. Everything is either disposed of afterwards, or cleaned with a medical grade cleaner (for the furniture and machine), between each client. All of our artists have a Bloodborne Pathogens Training for Tattoo Artists certificate they must renew on a yearly basis.
Additionally, we have eyewash and mouthwash available in the event of an eye or mouth related exposure event.
As of 9/11/2025, numbing products are illegal to use before or during body art procedures without a physician's note prescribing one. This regulation includes bactine spray.
If you wish to use a numbing gel/cream or spray, you must bring your doctor's note to your appointment so a copy can be made for your client record. You must also purchase and apply your own numbing agent.
If you have sensitive skin, heart conditions, or have had past adverse reactions to topical anesthesia, we encourage you to discuss this with your physician. Additionally, please make sure you are prescribed an anesthetic without epinephrine. Epinephrine (in addition to adversely interacting with certain medications and health conditions) is a vaso-constrictor and changes the quality of the skin and hinders the tattooing and healing processes.
If you wish to use a numbing agent and are either a new client for your artist OR using a numbing agent for the first time, please check in with your artist beforehand. If you haven't used your numbing product before, test it on a small patch of skin that won't be tattooed a few days beforehand to see if you have a reaction to it.
If you come to your appointment having applied a numbing agent beforehand and do not have a prescription, we cannot go forward with your appointment that day and you may risk losing your deposit.
