About Harmony/Huong

  • Hello! I’m Harmony or Huong, pronouns are they/them. I am 31 and I have been handpoking since 2018 and machine tattooing since 2024. I’m a Queer and Asian American artist and organizer living in West Michigan. I am married to a lovely librarian and have a small elderly cat.

  • I’ve always loved art, and have been drawing since my dad taught me at the age of 5. I attended GRCC for art and KCAD for art history, graduating in 2020. I love to make ceramics and painting. My hobbies include being outside, reading, cooking, gardening, and spending time with my community. 

  • Getting tattooed can be a very vulnerable experience, and I aim to create a safer space for my clients through practicing trauma-informed tattooing, staying committed to always learning, and listening to my clients. 

  • I do pre-drawn and custom work! I tattoo with machine and hand poke! Handpoke is available for any predrawn design, but may take longer than machine. Black, graywash, and color available

  • I enjoy styles such as Chinese inkbrush, pointillism, film stills, natural elements in vivid colors, organic adornments, pet portraits, matching tattoos, cartoon figures, anime, mythological figures, Vietnamese block prints, painting and sculpture reproductions, realism, abstract expression, signage, gothic/arial/serif/decorative fonts. I am comfortable working in many styles.

  • Please only DM me on social media if you’re claiming a spot from my story that asks for DM’s OR you have questions about aftercare/how your tattoo is healing.

  • I can do a variety of styles and am very interested in Asian Neo Traditional, Botanical, and Blackwork projects

    • Hyper-realism

    • Minimal Geometric

    • Tribal

    • Religious or sacred symbols from cultures the client is not a part of and culturally disrespectful imagery (e.g. caricatures, dream catchers, the Om symbol)

    • Hate symbols

    • Another artists work that the client does not have permission to be tattooed

    • I may not be the right artist for you, and I'm happy to give recommendations for other artists!

    • Deposits are nonrefundable.

    • Please give at least 48 hour's notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

    • Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice or no-shows the day of, will mean the forfeit of your deposit. Requests to reschedule with at least 48 hours notice, your original deposit will be transferred to the rescheduled date. 

    • If you cancel your appointment, any custom designs will be forfeited and may be posted as flash.

  • You are welcome to bring a guest! Seating in the studio is limited however, so if you would like to bring more than two, please let me know, so I can ensure we have enough space. Additionally, please do not bring small children. Our shop is a very boring environment for children and filled with breakable things.

    • Touch ups are free for the first year, on a high fade area (finger, feet, knees), or any tattoos done between my apprenticeship (2018-2021)

Pricing Information

  • My current rate is $110/hr (minimum $60), and I require a $45 nonrefundable deposit. This goes towards the total cost of the tattoo.

  • I send mock-up sketches before appointments, so you can think about the design and I have time to make any requested changes. Your final design will be ready the day off the appointment, you will have time to make small tweaks before tattoo time

  • I round up to the nearest fifteen minute mark when calculating cost but don’t include breaks in this. You will pay for needle time only, my machine tracks the time.

  • Cash is king! I also take payment app and card. Card reader does have a service fee associated with it of 3.5% of the total amount. 

  • Monetary/non-monetary tips are always appreciated!

  • Payment plans for tattoos over $400 is available. 50% due the day of appointment, 50% 4 weeks after the appointment. Payment plan must be requested in your booking form

  • I take one sliding scale appointment a month, please request in your booking form

  • All QTBIPOC Clients get 15% off their total cost, discount is applied day of appointment.
